What's the first thing you think of when I say the word "yoga"? Do you think of some spiritual guru doing yoga in a gown on a mountain in the Himalayas? What about a super-fit gymaholic with an organic fruit smoothie next to their yoga mat? Most people think that yoga is too "spiritual" to get into - that they're not dedicated enough to give it a try. But everyday, ordinary people can benefit from yoga too - and you can even do it in the comfort of your own home.

 Let's take a look at some of the reasons why you should consider taking up yoga as your next new hobby:


1. It allows the body & mind to de-stress

A good yoga session is amazing - nothing quite compares to it. Think a relaxing massage in a calm environment... only with a bit of exercise thrown in.


 2. It increases strength & flexibility

We all want to be stronger and more agile, right? Yoga allows our bodies to become toned & take on a strong, fit physique, all without adding too much bulk.


 3. It improves your metabolism

I think I speak for everyone when I say that I wish my metabolism was faster. Faster metabolisms are known for keeping us at healthier body-weights (something I could really go for after putting on a few since quarantine).
